The Assumption Kaloob Foundation, Inc., initiated a successful medical mission in the Marytown community located at Katipunan Avenue on May 21, 2022. The beneficiaries of this Medical mission are the sick and elderly members of the community who are taking maintenance and prescribed medicines by their respective medical specialists. The mission was participated by the Assumptionists brothers from the Pavel and Adveniat communities, the Dominican Sisters, and the Marytown coordinator, Ms. Kate Tagala. The Medical Mission was sponsored and made possible by the generous organization, the Phanxico Charity which provides financial assistance to buy the medicines, vitamins, and milk needed by the beneficiaries. Medical consultation was not done due to the pandemic situations and restrictions.
The activity started with the Holy Mass presided by Father Bernard Holzer at 3:00 in the afternoon. The program followed where the Fr. Bernard and Br. Mark Vincent Madronero (Kaloob Director) presented the rationale of this mission. The distributions of milk powder, vitamins, and medicines followed. After all the distribution, we shared and ate together a simple snack prepared by Mother leaders of Marytown. As the snack is served the participants had time to share stories to deepen their understanding of their situations and needs. Those beneficiaries who cannot attend the activity due to various reasons were visited and prayed over by the Mother leaders, AA brothers, and Dominican Sisters, after which their medicines were given. We continue to pray for God’s blessings for our donors, sick and elderly brothers and sisters, and all the people of Marytown. May His Kingdom come in us and around us.
