Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed. (Mark 1:35, NABRE).

July 26- 31, 2021. This year, the annual 5-day Retreat of the Philippine Territory can be considered exceptional because we have to beat all odds to find a place of retreat amidst the strict restriction for group gatherings, and reflecting deeper on the meaning of the Kingdom of God in this time of uncertainty. It was held in the Canossa Center of Spirituality in Tagaytay City, Philippines, managed by the Canossian Sisters. Day 1 to Day 3 was capped with the Lenten Talk and reflections on the Psalms given by Fr. Richard Lamoureux, AA, in St. Anne Parish, in the USA. His sharing centered on the spirituality of the psalms to help us get in touch with our daily human and religious experience. It is our hope that through this, the transformation will be achieved. Day 4 to Day 5 was highlighted with the sharing of Fr. Cristopher Quinal, AA, on the Letter of the General #10. The purpose of this letter is to give encouragement and hope to all. Being Men of our time, In the midst of the chaos that is happening in the world today, our mission is to bring the light of the Kingdom of God to all, especially to the poor and those who suffer much. Lastly, on the last day of the Retreat, the sharing of Br. Mark Madronero, AA of his mission experience in his two years stay in France, became the suitable closing activity to inspire the brothers who may be called to foreign mission in the future. These days of contemplation are our way of going to a “deserted place” and pray, and be strengthened, ready to work in building the Kingdom of God.
